Our Philosophy
Our Philosophy
The philosophy for our Nidwaldnerhof was created in 2003. To this day it continues to shape our everyday life, be it in the Nidwaldnerhof, in our family life, in the life of the village, in our relationships with suppliers and much, much more.
Living and working "at home". At home with family and friends. Family and friends are our strength and support. Strength and support form the ground upon which we build. From that ground emerges a growing and thriving business. Only in our growing and thriving business do we feel secure and at home. This feeling of well-being is transferable.
Welcome to our "home" in the Nidwaldnerhof.
Your host family Claudia & Rolf Stucki-Frutig, Sven and Jan.
About 100 years ago the Nidwaldnerhof was known as Park-Hotel Nidwaldnerhof. "In a favoured, open location, with a large covered terrace, directly beside the lake. Many rooms with balconies. Music salon. Electric lighting. Shady park with 400 m of shoreline and magnificent all-round views. Choice cuisine..." according to the brochure available at the time.
In 1979 the Park-Hotel Nidwaldnerhof was torn down and today's Nidwaldnerhof was built in its place. From that point on the brochures read, "The paradise on the Lake. Our terrace offers 120 guests a fantastic view of the lake and mountains. Conservatory romanticism with a lakeside view, seating 40 guests. Our hotel rooms are furnished in a modern style, with shower/WC, TV, telephone, radio alarm and mini-bar. The Hotel Nidwaldnerhof is centrally located with direct access to the A2.
The unforgettable location remains the same, and yet a few things have changed. We, Claudia und Rolf Stucki-Frutig, took over the Nidwaldnerhof in 2004, to become its new owners. In 2011 all the lakeside rooms were renovated and in 2013 the restaurant was completely modernised, the remaining rooms were tastefully renovated and three comfortable suites were installed in the attic (formerly the Panorama Saloon).
We have invested our love and passion in today's Nidwaldnerhof. We are sincerely committed to the region, which is also reflected in our fresh and honest cuisine. Our family, including Sven and Jan, feels at home here and firmly rooted. Our employees are part of our family and this is clearly noticeable in the Nidwaldnerhof.
